Privacy policy

What Purrge processes, why it matters, and the choices you have.

These terms are in force. One commercial detail is still being confirmed and is marked in the text below: how long a refund decision takes. Nothing else on this page is provisional.

Lemon Squeezy — optional affiliate referrals

Affiliate referrals are optional and separate from Google advertising consent. Only after you accept Affiliate referrals in Cookie settings do we load Lemon Squeezy’s affiliate.js from lmsqueezy.com and Lemon.js from assets.lemonsqueezy.com. Rejecting, closing the notice, or sending Global Privacy Control keeps them off. You can buy Purrge without accepting.

The affiliate script sends Lemon Squeezy the page URL, referrer, affiliate code or existing click ID, a browser fingerprint calculated on your device, and network connection information. Lemon Squeezy uses this to link a referring partner’s visit to a purchase and award referral credit. The script sets the ls_aff_ref cookie on this site. Our checkout reads the generated click ID through Lemon Squeezy’s API and passes it as aff_ref on the hosted checkout URL; the public aff code is not the tracking ID.

Lemon Squeezy supplies the cookie’s expiry in its tracking response. Referral validity and first- or last-affiliate credit are controlled by the merchant’s Lemon Squeezy settings. We do not set a separate referral lifetime or promise a fixed number of days. Provider-side record retention has not been confirmed. Return visits with consent use the provider’s cookie and tracking service, subject to its expiry and your browser’s storage limits.

Withdraw Affiliate referrals or press Reject optional in Cookie settings to clear the referral cookie this site can reach and reload without the scripts. Your preference is kept for 180 days in purrge_privacy. Withdrawal stops future website tracking; it does not erase provider records already received or cookies on Lemon Squeezy’s own domain. If you leave an affiliate landing page before giving consent, that referral may not be recorded. Blocked or slow tracking does not prevent purchasing.

Recipient: Lemon Squeezy, LLC. See its privacy policy and referral tracking documentation.

Who is responsible

The controller for this website and the Purrge Mac app is Creative Sparks, Adams Building, Thellakom PO, Kottayam, Kerala, India — 686630. Purrge is on sale; how payment and licence delivery work is set out under Payments and licence delivery below. The independent app preview linked from this site runs on a separate host under its own notice.

Contact support@purrge.app.

Payments and licence delivery

Buying Purrge sends you to Lemon Squeezy’s hosted checkout. Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for the sale, so it is the party you transact with and the controller of the payment data you give it, under its own privacy notice and retention rules. Your card details are entered on Lemon Squeezy’s page and are never sent to, rendered by or stored on purrge.app; this website receives no card number, expiry or security code at any point. Lemon Squeezy processes your email address, billing details and the tax information a receipt legally requires.

What comes back to Creative Sparks is the order record needed to support the sale: your email address, the order reference, the licence key issued and whether it was refunded. It is used to answer support requests, reissue a lost key and meet accounting and tax obligations, which is also what sets how long it is kept. Licence activation, validation and deactivation send your key and a random installation identifier to Lemon Squeezy over HTTPS. Activation is stored in macOS Keychain.

Your files and the Mac app

The app scans selected locations locally. File names, paths, sizes and related findings are processed on your Mac to display storage, identify supported cleanup candidates and perform actions you select. Scan history, preferences and SSD recovery records can persist locally. The app does not upload file contents or scan inventories as product analytics.

Full Disk Access is optional and broader than access to file sizes. A limited-access scan may omit protected locations. Opening System Settings does not prove permission was granted. Cleanup permanently deletes selected eligible content after confirmation and validation. Files do not go to the Trash and deletion cannot be undone. Shared blocks and snapshots may keep some space in use.

The licensed app verifies keys online with Lemon Squeezy and stores activation in macOS Keychain. First activation requires internet access; a previously validated license allows up to 30 days of offline use. File inventories and hardware serial numbers are not sent for activation.

Website delivery and security

Cloudflare delivers the website and provides network security. Serving requests necessarily involves technical information such as IP address, request path, browser/protocol information, timestamps and response status. Cloudflare may process this information across its network for delivery, reliability and abuse prevention.

The site has no newsletter, account form or error-reporting SDK. It does have a consent-gated tag layer, described in the next section, which is inactive until you accept it. Network and service diagnostics are separate from optional product analytics. Our deployment samples operational logs and redacts query strings. Do not place personal information or license keys in website URLs.

Website chat

A Chat with us button is available on this website. UserJot’s chat code is requested only after you press it. Opening chat sends technical connection information to UserJot. If you send a message, UserJot handles its text and any contact details you choose to provide so we can reply. The website does not automatically identify you or share the page path with UserJot.

Chat is separate from optional analytics and advertising. Cookie settings do not control a chat you choose to open. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, full licence keys, private files or scan results. You can use email instead.

See Services & data processing and UserJot’s privacy policy.

Mixpanel and Sentry

Mixpanel is integrated into the native app. Usage analytics is enabled by default on new installations of version 0.4.1 or later. Existing saved choices are preserved, and older installations that completed onboarding without enabling analytics remain disabled. Turn it off on the welcome screen or in Settings → Privacy & diagnostics. If enabled, events describe app launch, onboarding, navigation, scanning, aggregate cleanup outcomes and activation results. They include a random persisted installation identifier and SDK properties such as app version, OS, device model and display characteristics. These are pseudonymous data, not a promise of complete anonymity.

App events are designed to exclude file names, paths, file contents, installed-app inventories, license values, hardware serial numbers and stable platform identifiers. Automatic event capture and IP-based geolocation enrichment are disabled. Like other network providers, Mixpanel necessarily receives network connection information when a request is sent.

Sentry provides optional native crash reporting. It stays off by default and starts only when you enable crash diagnostics in Settings. Reports exclude file paths, scan inventories and license details. No session replay is enabled. Website cookie choices do not enable or disable the Mac app’s separate preferences.

See Services & data processing for provider status and links.

Google Analytics 4, Google Ads and the Meta Pixel

The Google tag (gtag.js) is loaded directly from googletagmanager.com after advertising consent. It records page visits for advertising measurement and audiences, and sends page, browser, device, referrer and connection information, including IP address, to Google LLC and its group companies, including in the United States. Google may also receive advertising click identifiers in the page URL.

Google Ads may set the _gcl_au cookie on this domain, with a documented default lifetime of 90 days, and contact googleadservices.com and doubleclick.net. Google may set its own cookies, such as IDE and test_cookie, under those domains where your browser permits them. Third-party cookie lifetimes are controlled by Google.

With advertising consent, the website can verify a completed order with Lemon Squeezy and send Google Ads the order transaction ID, actual paid amount and currency for purchase conversion measurement. A test, failed, unpaid or refunded order does not count. Visiting the thank-you page alone is not proof of payment. We do not send your email address, name or license key to Google. No sign-up or lead conversion is sent.

Google Consent Mode v2 starts with ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage denied. No tracking script, preconnect, DNS prefetch or tracking iframe contacts Google before you choose. Reject optional and Accept all are available side by side. Details offers an unticked advertising choice. Closing the panel grants nothing.

You can withdraw advertising consent in Cookie settings. This denies the consent signals, clears the Google advertising cookies this page can reach and reloads without the tag. Your choice is remembered for 180 days. Withdrawing does not remove information Google already received.

Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel remain unconfigured and do not load. Analytics and diagnostics cannot be enabled in Cookie settings.

Google’s Ads Data Processing Terms were accepted for the Purrge Tag Manager account on 14 September 2026. This notice does not assert additional account settings or retention choices. See Google’s advertising and measurement privacy information.

Purposes and legal bases

We process necessary website connection information to deliver and protect the service. Where a legal basis is required, our legitimate interests are reliable delivery and preventing abuse, subject to applicable law and your rights. Necessary preference storage remembers the choice you request.

Optional website analytics and optional website advertising each rely on your separate consent, recorded per purpose. Accepting one does not accept the other, refusing costs you no functionality, and continuing to browse is not consent. You can withdraw either at any time from Cookie settings; withdrawal stops future collection and reloads the page without the tags, but it does not delete data a provider has already received.

Native usage analytics is optional and enabled by default for new installs from version 0.4.1. You can disable it on the welcome screen or in Settings without losing scanning or recovery features. Disabling stops future collection; it does not automatically delete reports already sent. No marketing consent is bundled with website use, and none is requested at checkout.

Storage, retention and transfers

The website preference cookie expires after 180 days and may be removed sooner through browser controls. Ordinary page, font, image and video caching is controlled by your browser and delivery headers; caching does not by itself identify you for advertising. Local app preferences and activation remain until removed by the app’s controls or appropriate local data removal. Local scan history is bounded to the latest 20 summaries; relocation journals are retained for recovery and should not be deleted while a relocation is unresolved.

Cloudflare retention and processing locations depend on the services and account settings used. Exact operational-log retention must be confirmed in the deployment account. Mixpanel and Sentry project regions, retention and deletion workflows must be verified before production reporting is enabled. We do not claim that selecting an EU region, signing a data-processing agreement, or configuring a deletion period has already occurred.

If you accept the optional tags, data goes to third parties outside the EEA and the UK. Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads data is processed by Google LLC and its group companies, including in the United States. Meta Pixel data is processed by Meta Platforms, including in the United States. Their own cookie lifetimes — Google documents up to two years for _ga and 90 days for _gcl_au, Meta documents 90 days for _fbp — are provider defaults we have not yet configured, and provider-side retention is set in their consoles, not by this website.

Where personal data is transferred internationally, applicable safeguards and provider agreements must be established. For Google, the Ads Data Processing Terms were accepted for this Tag Manager account on 14 September 2026 and are the published terms that govern its processing and transfers. For Meta, nothing equivalent exists: no Business account is connected and no terms have been accepted. No retention window or regional setting has been configured for either. These outstanding configuration and contractual details are listed in the services notice; provider privacy pages do not replace Purrge’s responsibility to explain its own processing.

Your controls and rights

You can accept or reject each optional purpose, change your mind from Cookie settings, clear the preference cookie, and use the Mac app’s separate diagnostics controls. Withdrawing advertising or analytics consent stops the tags, clears the Google and Meta cookies this page can reach, and reloads the page without them. Clearing cookies does not delete app-local records or data a provider already holds.

A Global Privacy Control signal is treated as a binding opt-out of advertising and of any sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising. When it is present, the advertising purpose stays off and cannot be switched on by pressing a button in the notice; analytics remains a separate, explicit opt-in that is off unless you choose it. Without the advertising tags this site does not sell personal information or use it for cross-context advertising.

Depending on the law that applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and complain to your local data-protection authority. Rights and exceptions depend on the circumstances. We may need proportionate information to identify the relevant records and verify a request. Do not send passwords, payment-card information, license keys or a full disk inventory.

For UK complaints, contact the Information Commissioner’s Office; EEA residents may contact their local supervisory authority. India-specific rights and complaint routes depend on provisions in force. We do not claim universal applicability or certification under every privacy law.

Use the contact route on Support & privacy requests once the verified operator details are published.

Children and changes

Purrge is a general-purpose Mac utility, not a service directed at children, and this preview does not solicit age information or child profiles. No age-verification system or child-specific consent process is currently provided. Contact us if you believe personal information has been submitted inappropriately.

The date above identifies this notice version. Version 3 adds verified purchase conversion measurement to advertising and invalidates earlier choices, which described page visits only. Everyone is asked again before optional tracking loads. We will do the same before a further material provider or purpose change. A privacy notice is not an agreement to optional tracking.

Your privacy choices.

Choose each purpose separately. Nothing optional is selected in advance, and closing this panel does not grant consent. Your choice is remembered for 180 days.

No choice recorded yet. Until you choose, every optional purpose is off.

Necessary Always on

Delivery and security, plus remembering this choice for up to 180 days. It contains no advertising or visitor ID.

Analytics Not active

Google Analytics 4 is built in but not configured, so it cannot run and there is nothing to turn on. Mac app analytics have a separate opt-in in the app’s Settings.

Diagnostics Not active

Sentry is planned, but no Sentry reporting or session replay runs on this website, so there is nothing to turn on.

Reject optional also withdraws consent you gave earlier: tracking stops, the Google, Meta and Lemon Squeezy referral cookies this page can reach are cleared, and the page reloads when needed.

Reopen Cookie settings in the footer at any time. Closing this panel does not grant consent. Cookie policy · Privacy policy
